Privacy Policy for Sandybook Safe Tracker

This Privacy Policy outlines our commitment to your data sovereignty. Unlike traditional tracking apps, Sandybook Safe Tracker is designed with a "Privacy by Design" architecture.

1. Zero Data Collection

We do not collect, store, or "track" your personal information on any external servers.

• No Server Side: There is no back-end database. Your financial logs and note counts never leave your device.

• No Analytics: We do not use third-party tracking cookies or telemetry to monitor your usage.

2. Local Storage Only

All data generated by the app—including currency denominations, daily opening/closing balances, and remarks—is stored locally on your device using Web Storage (localStorage).

• You are the sole custodian of your data.

• Clearing your browser cache or "Clear Site Data" will permanently delete your records unless you have manually exported a backup.

3. Security & Passcode

The app features a local "Security Passcode" to prevent unauthorized local access (e.g., someone picking up your unlocked phone).

• This passcode is stored as a plain-text key (sandybook_security_pass) within your own browser's local storage.

• We do not have access to this passcode and cannot reset it for you if lost (except via the manual Master Recovery Key provided in the source code).

4. Third-Party Scripts

To provide functionality, the app loads the following standard libraries from public Content Delivery Networks (CDNs):

• Tailwind CSS: For styling.

• React & ReactDOM: For user interface logic.

• Lucide Icons: For visual elements.

• Babel: For code processing. While these services may log basic technical metadata (like your IP address) to serve the script files, they do not receive any of the data you enter into the Sandybook ledger.

5. Data Portability (Export/Import)

The app provides Export and Import functions.

• Export: This generates a .json file of your records for your personal backup.

• Import: This allows you to restore your own records from a previously saved file. No data is transmitted to Sandybook during these operations; the processing happens entirely within your browser.

6. Your Control

Since no data is stored by us, "deleting" your data is entirely within your control:

1. Open your browser settings.

2. Navigate to "Clear Browsing Data."

3. Select "Cookies and other site data."
